Global Brigades empowers communities to reduce inequalities by resolving health and economic disparities. Global Brigades adopts a holistic model that provides water, sanitation, health care and the development of community banks to rural communities in developing countries globally. WIL provided working capital to Pueblo Neuvo Community Bank, a women led and managed bank in rural Panama

Fonkoze, US

Haiti

In 2020, WIL continued its previous support of Fonkoze. Fonkoze seeks to eliminate poverty in rural Haiti by providing financial and non-financial services to empower women to make economic choices that benefit their households. Fonkoze serves the poorest of the poor and has empowered over 8200 to break the cycle of poverty.

Namaste Direct

Guatemala

2020

Namaste directly contributes to Women's Economic Empowerment by providing business development programs that increase the cash flow of low income women in Guatemala. Namaste serves approximately 350 women annually with business advisory and educational programs along with micro-loans.

NWTF

Philippines

2019

Founded in 1984, NWTF is a non-government organization committed to the fight against poverty by providing Grameen-based micro financing and developmental services to the marginalized urban and rural poor of Central Philippines.

FINCA

Ecuador

2018

Banco FINCA currently supports approximately 31,000 Ecuadorians with small loans, which average around USD 2030, in addition to other financial services tailored to the needs and possibilities of their customers.

LEWA

Kenya

2018

The Lewa Women’s Micro-Credit Programme supports rural women living in the communities surrounding the Conservancy. We provide them with low-interest loans to enable them initiate micro-enterprises such as tailoring, homestead retail shops, poultry-keeeping, farming and more.

FINCA

Afghanistan

2018

FINCA Afghanistan serves more than 25,000 clients—especially women, ethnic minorities, and returning refugees—through 21 locations in the country with individual, small group, SME, agriculture and Islamic loans.
