WIL's First Virtual Giving Circle - Your Vote Counts!

Updated: Aug 17, 2022

On November 17, 2020, WIL held its first virtual Giving Circle. We exceeded our goal of raising $5000 to go to an organization that is deeply committed to WIL's mission. Three organizations were the finalists for consideration, and each had fifteen minutes to present their project to the Giving Circle attendees who then voted to determine which organization will receive the grant. Because of the generosity of WIL members and others, we were able to contribute to all three organizations. They are:

Friendship Bridge

Friendship Bridge creates opportunities that empower women in Guatemala to build a better life. Microfinance, education, and healthcare are the tools that are used. Friendship Bridge believes that microcredit must be combined with education and preventive health services to help clients build resilience and pursue opportunities.

Fonkoze

Fonkoze was created over twenty-five years ago to bring financial inclusion and development services to Haiti. Fonkoze is a family of organizations that works together to provide financial and non-financial services to empower Haitians-primarily women-to lift their families out of poverty.

Curamericas Global

Curamericas makes a measurable impact on the health of the community by focusing on prevention, health education, and establishing relationships with existing health facilities. Curamericas Global has partnered with communities in Guatemala, Bolivia, Sierra Leone, Kenya, and Liberia to save the lives of women and children.
