The Haitian woman is the backbone of her family; if she becomes ill, its crucial structure collapses. Nurse Practitioner and Hispañola Health Partners executive director Louise Lindenmeyr traced the history of an equitable, sustainable women's health care system she helped create in rural Haiti. We traveled with her over the mountainous terrain by motorcycle to inside the homes and lives of women in this rugged remote region, presenting the pride and promise of a bottom-up approach to health care in a low-resource setting. Hispañola Health Partners has been the recipient of two WIL grants. This program was held on April 15, 2021.
