Inaugural WIL Travel Book Club Discussion
Our first selection is Love at the Border: An Adoption Memoir from Mexico by WIL’s own Anna Maria DiDio. Love at the Border provides a rare look into the international adoption of an older child and speaks to all blended families as mother and daughter endeavor to bridge two worlds.

WIL's first fundraising event celebrated the organization's tax-exempt status. Linda Resnick, former president of the organization, received the Bobbie Gohn Inspiration Award for cofounding WIL, as well as dedicating her nonprofit experience and activism for women’s rights to WIL. Leigh Carter, founding director of Fonkoze USA, received the Microfinance Innovator Award on behalf of Fonkoze for providing services to over 200,000 clients in Haiti. KPMG received the Corporate Supporter Award for serving as WIL’s principal corporate sponsor at that time.
