Like many in our WIL community, as the Covid-19 pandemic swept the globe in 2020, Linda Dubin Garfield cancelled her travel plans and instead spent time reminiscing about her past travels. Turning her travel obstacle positive, Linda created a new body of mixed media work that reflects on the memories associated with her past expeditions. FOOTprints: Travel Landscapes is a selection of her new work, curated like a map that touches each of the 7 continents she has visited. It also visualizes a passion to embrace the beauty of the world, integral to who we are as WIL.
FOOTprints: Travel Landscapes opens at Da Vinci Art Alliance (704 Catharine Street, Philadelphia) in Gallery 2 on May 13th, 5-8pm and runs through May 30th. Linda will be donating 30% of the artwork sales from this exhibition to benefit WIL, further enhancing our efforts to invest in underserved women globally with women’s education, health, social/political leadership and self-sufficiency projects.
Register to join two special opening events:

With gratitude … Linda has hosted charitable birthday celebrations since the untimely death of her dear friend 15 years ago. In lieu of birthday gifts each year, she collects donations for nonprofits in the arts and who promote women’s leadership. This year she named WIL as her beneficiary. Linda will donate 30% of artwork sales to WIL. She also encourages gifts to WIL. Please note “in honor of FOOTprints” when making your gift.
