Sandee is Executive Director of Leah’s Dream Inc, a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to sponsoring education and community development through financial and mentoring support for young women in remote areas of Northern Ghana. Sandee holds 2 Masters’ Degrees, one in Educational Technology and one in Master of Arts in Humanities as well as a school library science certification. She has over 35 years of classroom experience K-12 as well as in adult education. She founded Leah’s Dream in 2010 just as she was retiring from teaching as a way to carry on her daughter’s vision and to honor her memory. Leah Horowitz had worked in Northern Ghana on gender equity issues. She was unfortunately killed in an automobile accident at the age of 29. Sandee has attempted to carry on the good work that was done by her daughter. In Ghana she is known as “mom” and has an African “granddaughter” named after her.
